º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ encourages students to get involved in recreational activities both on and off campus. º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ emphasizes sport and fitness activities as a vital component of a successful, rewarding and enjoyable college experience. We invite students to participate, meet people, have fun, play and be active!

Campus Recreation enhances the quality of student life by offering a wide variety of recreational activities, programs and events. These activities, programs and events are provided free or at a nominal charge to º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ students.

Leagues

Coed Indoor Volleyball -Looking to expand your social circle and enhance your college experience? Join our coed indoor volleyball intramural league this winter! It's a fantastic way to forge new connections while supplementing your academic pursuits. Not only will you sharpen your social and organizational skills, but you'll also have the chance to explore new interests—all while engaging in a sport you love. Don't miss out on this opportunity to have fun and grow both on and off the court!

Fitness Facility

The Fitness Facility offers a vibrant atmosphere and a diverse range of cardio and resistance training equipment. Here, cardio enthusiasts can enjoy looking outside while they work out. Additionally, beginners to intermediate weight room users will find that the facility more than adequately fulfills their exercise needs.

Current º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ students can  or from the Registrar's Office in the Student Services Building.  It is a one-time $10 fee for a card which will need to be renewed each semester you are registered in classes. 

  • If purchasing at the Registrar's Office, come to the Recreation Office at A104 with your receipt to fill out appropriate forms. Please allow two business days for processing.
  • If ,  come to the Recreation Office A104 with your picture ID and to complete the appropriate forms.  Please allow two business days for payment processing.

All fitness facility members are required to fill out a yearly Get Active Questionnaire (GAQ) as well as a Release and Waiver of Liability Membership Form.  Students under 19 years can purchase a card from the Registrar's Office in the Student Service Building and will require parental or guardian signatures. 

All cards will be available for pick up at the Fitness facility A158 once processed.

Fitness Facility Hours

The Kelowna Fitness Facility is now closed for the holiday break. Enjoy exploring the local ski hills and trails!
Winter Hours begin Monday, January 6, 2025!

Monday to Friday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

*We are closed on weekends and statutory holidays*

 

 

Outdoor Fitness

º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ has permanent outdoor fitness equipment on the west side of the C building. Designed for movement, a quick drop in or a break from your day, feel free to use the outdoor training equipment at your leisure. There are also walking paths throughout campus, refer to the map below for locations and distances.

Community Fitness Partner

In partnership with , º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ is pleased to provide free swimming passes for students at this facility between September to April.

Please stop by the Athletics, Recreation and Student Life office (A104) with your valid student ID and proof of enrolment every semester to access these passes. You can also email us at KelownaRec@okanagan.bc.ca for more info.

Jim Pattison Centre of Excellence Gymnasium and Fitness Centre

The Jim Pattison Centre of Excellence gymnasium and fitness centre are open for students and staff use. Memberships can be purchased at the administration office for $10. Take your receipt to PC 146 to fill in appropriate membership and Get Active Questionaire forms and your card. Please note that students under the age of 19 will require parental or guardian signature on their membership form.

Hours of operation are posted outside the fitness facilities doors.

Get active

Making time for physical activity on a regular basis has a number of physical and mental health benefits. The Vernon campus has a Fitness Centre featuring several exercise machines and workout equipment. Hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Monday through Thursday. Stop by Vernon Administration (A Building) for access; cost is a one-time $10 fee for ongoing access via Salto card.

The  adjacent to the campus is operated by the City of Vernon. The synthetic running track is open to walkers and runners from dawn to dusk, and is free to use.
